We were recently approached by a customer in Harrogate with the interesting challenge of installing an oversized glazed wine cellar. Normally an installation of this kind would be relatively straight forward … however on this occasion … not so. The span of glass required was 4.66m x 2.8m all in one unit of glass…this was really pushing the boundaries for tolerance especially with the request for minimal visible channelling.

 

However, here at Diverso this is the kind of challenge that we LOVE.  We got to work with our suppliers, and with our extensive relationships and experience we calculated the best specification of glass and capacity for channel to make sure we got the span of glass all in one unit.

 

The wine cellar was to the back of an existing room, so whilst the over-sized glass challenge had been solved…the next step was the physical installation.  Machine intervention was required with counter weight genie lifts and telehandlers. However the absolute final millimetre detail in to the channel had to be taken on by our wonderful members of site staff.  With a slight hold of breath and an immense amount of experience, in it went and it was perfect.

 

This created the most stunning seamless, elegant installation for our customer to have uninterrupted visual access to his extensive wince collection

 

Wine cellars are an amazing feature to the home, and can really utilise sometimes wasted or unused space in a beautiful unique way.   Glass allows our customers to showcase some of their amazing wine collections, with the introduction of other mediums such as wood, aluminium, steel and lighting to give a unique look to match the property
